On Saturday, August 13th 2011, the sport of bocce will be celebrated across the United States with activities, promotions and events to mark the inaugural National Bocce Day.

Italian Bocce
Bocce is one of the world’s oldest sports, discovered over 5,000 years ago and played ever since, starting with Egyptians, Greeks and Romans. Bocce is truly an international sport, played all over the world in various forms and was brought to the United States primarily by Italian immigrants.
National Bocce Day is an industry-wide initiative of bocce manufacturers, retailers, facilities, leagues and events to promote the sport of bocce to Americans of all generations, demographics and physical abilities.
National Bocce Day will be celebrated in a series of nationwide events and celebrations with event proceeds to benefit designated charity and non-profit organizations. Hundreds of other nationwide bocce events will also take place on Saturday, August 13th, 2011.
